THE STORY BEHIND US

I’ve always known I wanted to run my own business. After earning a degree in Communication Arts from the University of Cincinnati in 1986, I spent a few years in retail management before entering the executive search industry in 1989. I was fortunate to train under two of Chicago’s top recruiters, and quickly discovered my passion — and talent — for this work.

By 1991, I launched the Insurance Search Group at Executive Directions, where I shaped a consultative approach rooted in deep client partnerships. I made it a point to visit client offices, meet hiring managers in person, and understand each company’s unique culture. This allowed me to present a more complete, compelling story to candidates — and equally, I met every candidate face to face, learning not just their qualifications, but their goals and motivations. The result was meaningful, lasting placements built on trust and alignment. While the philosophy remains the same, now we do all of this via Zoom!

In 2003, I founded The Marver Group with the same philosophy: to build long-term relationships based on service, integrity, partnership and personalized attention. Since relocating to South Florida in 2015, I’ve expanded my focus beyond insurance to include legal, tech, operations, banking, financial services, corporate finance, and people & culture operations. 


Today, The Marver Group returns to its roots — built on enduring relationships, thoughtful collaboration, and a deep commitment to delivering exceptional talent with care and precision.
