  • Title: Middle Market Worker's Compensation Production Underwriter
    Compensation: to $100,000 plus bonus
    Description: This person will be responsible for the marketing, production, underwriting and management of middle market worker's compensation accounts that range in written premium from $100k to $1mm. They will review submissions and work very closely with the brokerage community as well as with large regional agencies to produce and underwrite this business. All accounts involve guaranteed cost. Will work with home office in establishing and achieving aggresive growth goals, quality and profitability. Will monitor producer activity through monthly production and claims reports. Will work closely to service producers. Will manage risk control survey orders, review and initiate appropriate action when necessary. Will interact with claims, risk control, premium audit and accounting. There is some travel as this person will participate in underwriting audits of producer business in this office location and in other field offices. This is monoline worker's compensation. Must have a minimum of three years experience with a carrier and with worker's compensation. Commercial casualty and multi-line backgrounds will be considered. Must have existing broker and agency relationships. Local candidates only.

  • Title: Global Property Analyst
    Compensation: Open, but client prefers to stay in the $75,000 to $85,000 range
    Description: This person will be responsible for working with the National Global Segment Leader, Executive Underwriter and Reverse Flow Property Manager. They will basically serve as a consultant to the Global Property business segment and look at new business submissions and determine whether or not it makes sense to write the piece of business. They will serve as a resource in referrals, audits, development and implementation of non-policy agreements and guidelines and reinsurance placements...Externally they will work with customers and brokers. They will work internally with home office and field office staff. They will be involved in overall business segment strategy and production without actually doing the underwriting. Must have primary commercial property underwriting experience and a strong understanding of the placement of property facultative and treaty reinsurance. Global property underwriting experience is not required. Approximately 20% travel to New York and other large regional offices.

  • Title: Environmental Casualty Underwriter
    Compensation: $70,000 to $95,000
    Description: This person will be responsible for the marketing, production and underwriting of environmental casualty accounts involving chemical companies, landfills, waste management companies, water treatment plants, environmental contractors and pollution liability. The book of business will be valued at between $5mm and $7mm in written premium. Lines of coverage will include general liability, auto and umbrella. Midwest territory includes Chicago, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska Missouri and the Dakotas. Will work with agents and brokers in the assigned territory to market and produce new business and to service existing business. Must have at least three years commercial lines production underwriting experience. Must have strong broker/agency relationships. Pollution liability underwriting experience would be preferred but is not required. Client is a major international carrier. This is a very large regional office opportunity with excellent growth potential both within the department and within the entire regional office.

  • Title: Associate Commercial Lines Underwriter
    Compensation: $48,000 to $55,000 plus bonus
    Description: This person will be responsible for the marketing, production and underwriting of small commercial package accounts and for managing their book of business. Accounts range up to approximately $75k. Lines of coverage include worker's compensation, general liability, auto, and property package. They will work with assigned agents within their territory to service the book of business and to handle the account management of their book of business. Average book of business size is $2.5mm to $3.5mm in written premium, so there are alot of accounts to manage. Must have at least three to five years of commercial multi-line underwriting or senior level assistant underwriting experience. Must have experience with both new and renewal business. Must have strong marketing skill, effective time management skill, outstanding communication and organizational skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.

  • Title: Senior Casualty Construction Underwriter
    Compensation: to $95,000 plus bonus
    Description: This person will be responsible for the marketing, production and underwriting of large casualty construction accounts and possibly some wrap ups. They will work very closely with the brokerage community within their assigned territory to market, produce, underwriter and service new and renewal business. Average account premiums range from $500k to $1.5mm. Primarily a Chicago territory, but the book may include several other states. Book of business size will be determined once the candidate is hired and the book is re-cut. Lines of coverage include worker's compensation, general liability and auto. Will work with retros, loss sensitive underwriting programs and guaranteed cost. Must have at least five years of large lines casualty production underwriting experience with strong existing broker/agent relationships.   • Title: Senior Primary Casualty Production Underwriter
    Compensation: $85,000 to $100,000 plus performance bonus incentive
    Description: This person will be responsible for the marketing, production and underwriting of commercial casualty accounts that typically range from $100k to $1mm in written premium although most are between $100k and $500k. Lines of coverage include worker's compensation, general liability and auto, although they tend not to write as much GL as the other two lines. Book of business will be approximately $7.5mm to $8mm. Classes of business will include manufacturing, wholesalers, retailers, and service. Will work on both new and renewal business. Midwest territory. Will work very closely with both national brokers and large regional agencies. Must have at least five years of commercial lines production underwriting experience with established broker/agent relationships. Must have strong and demonstratable communication, relationship building, organizational and time management skills. A college degree or related insurance experience is required.

  • Title: Worker's Compensation Claims Technical Assistant
    Compensation: $42,000 to $49,000
    Description: This person will be responsible for Worker's Compensation claims processing on the regional Worker's Compensation Claim's Team. They will manage indemnity payments-electronic pay diary, monitor deadlines and correspondence in compliance with specific jurisdictions, arrange physical examinations and to all related functions, process settlement documents and appropriate state filings, prepare legal referrals and follow all appropriate procedures, and manage medical bill payments. They will be involved in customer service. Will work with claims from a multi-state territory. Excellent growth potential within the Claims Practice. Must have several years of claim's assistant responsibilities or uw assistant responsibilities. Must demonstrate initiative, reliability, and problem-solving abilities.
